Charting a Course: A Mentor Program Handbook

MTA's Center for Education Policy and Practice has taken the lead in assisting school districts and educators realize the potential of quality mentoring programs.

In response to recently enacted licensing (certification) regulations which require district induction programs for beginning teachers, the Center has published a concise guide for developing mentoring programs that build on district readiness, involve all stakeholders, and comply with state regulations.

The Handbook has been mailed free of charge to the superintendent, the director of curriculum/mentor coordinator, and the president of the local teachers association in all state school districts.

Additional printed copies are available to districts or associations while supplies last. Contact the Center at 617-878-8232 or by e-mail, wpeterson@massteacher.org.
